Cookies & Device Storage

Effective September 2, 2026

The current app does not set advertising or marketing cookies. It uses browser storage to remember the features you choose to use.

• Local storage: saved elves, unfinished drafts, favorites, an optional book/page bookmark, permanent Passport stamps, activity counters, badges, scores, streaks, Advent rewards, sound preferences, and a marker for collection changes since a backup download.
• Session storage: temporary tool hand-offs and a workshop-visit marker.
• Hosting: Cloudflare may use essential security mechanisms to protect and deliver the site. These are not Passport or elf data.

We have not added an optional advertising or analytics consent banner because those scripts are disabled in this version. If they are introduced later, the appropriate disclosures and consent system must be configured first.

Your controls

You can block or clear storage in browser settings. Blocking it may prevent saving. Clearing it can erase your elves and progress. Download a backup before clearing site data. Private/incognito windows may discard data when closed.
